In addition to the proven reliability and smotth operation of the ALPSLOCK
, a lightweight aluminum plate with a 4 hole pattern is included for attachment
to a 4 bolt pyramid component. The Glass Reinforced Nylon lock body
exhibits better wear characteristics than delrin or aluminum.
The tight tolerances maintained at ALPS ensures that the serrations of the pin
move securely through the one-way gear. Users can take advantage of its
ease of use and quiet mechanism. For additional comfort while sitting for
extended periods, the user can easily disengage the pin by pushing the side
mounted release button to quickly relieve tension. The convenient one-way
gear allows the user to push in or wind the limb into the socket. This is
particularly helpful for users with excess residual tissue. A unique
feature of this type of lock is that if foreign material or clothing get caugth
in the gear, the houseing can be removed freeing the pin. this eliminates
the possibility of having to cut the socket. The ALPSLOCK with 4 Hole
Plate (S496-T) can be used with laminated or thermoplastic sockets.
